Great Bean for Long Season. Productivity, Flavor
Sep 17, 2024  |  By HENRY
I grow almost exclusively Blauhilde Pole Beans. They have a wonderful nutty flavor, and turn green when cooked. The vines grow up to 15 feet long in my garden. They do not produce beans in 55 days. They take more like 95-100 days in my garden in Pennsylvania. I plant them in early May and have beans by mid to late August. You have to be careful not to let the fines bunch up at the top of polls, because that area will stay wet and get disease quickly. I have 7 foot strings running all over the place with beans on them. :-)
